Never taking herself too seriously, Elaine Tse is as known for her spunk and energy as she is for her exquisite jewelry. On the dare of a friend two years ago, Elaine left the world of actuaries to revisit her childhood creative passions of collecting colorful stones and beads. Within weeks she had created a collection of semi-precious jewelry full of fun, funky designs and beautiful, beguiling bridal pieces. Wearing her work on the streets and at exclusive parties, she sold several pieces “off her neck” and ears, and gained the momentum to launch Tselaine Jewelry.

Tselaine Jewelry is divided into five distinct categories: Tselaine Bridal, Tselaine Diva Wear, Tselaine Street Chic, Tselaine Classics and The Branch Collection. “The fun of designing jewelry is the endless combinations and possibilities,” says Elaine Tse, “so I create and design impulsively with the hope that each and every piece will be well-loved and worn often.”

Tselaine Bridal is a collection of tiaras, hair combs, necklaces and hair pins featuring a variety of pearls and colorful semi-precious stones sculpted into diaphanous, ethereal designs using twists and weaves of a single thread of sterling silver or 18 karat gold.

Tselaine Diva Wear features a spectacular selection of show-stopping designs including chunky semi-precious stone lariat necklaces, multi-strand shoulder sweep earrings, and dramatic bracelets with unique features like mosaic mother-of-pearl disco balls.

Tselaine Street Chic is made up of semi-precious stone beaded necklaces, some multi-strand, some adorned with sculpted shells or floral-shaped pieces. All are made to be layered for a fun, flirtatious look, yet are colorful and creative enough to wear individually. Several earring and bracelet styles round out this collection for the stylish, casual “girl about town.”

Tselaine Classics include simple, yet savvy, multi-strand pearl necklaces, delicate drop earrings and coin pearl bracelet cuffs in a sophisticated palette of black, white and soft pink.

The Branch Collection, Tselaine’s most popular by far, is made up of delicate, artistic expressions evoking the elegance of flowers, leaves and tree limbs found in nature. Using an origami-inspired technique, all pieces are woven using an uncut sterling silver or 18 kt. gold wire.

A Chicago native, Elaine Tse has lived in Philadelphia for eight years. She works out of a private studio at 132A Chestnut Street, in the city’s gallery district, where she takes private appointments.
